Creating with Confidence

Engineering Innovation Inc

Who is Eii?

Engineering Innovation (Eii) is a pre-sort mail and parcel solutions company that creates sorting equipment for distribution centers and warehouses.  They offer other services such as preventative maintenance repairs, 24-hour customer support, and software & hardware services.

Life of a Trade Show

Thorough my two years at Engineering Innovation, I worked on many marketing projects as an Event and Marketing Coordinator. I had the privilege to travel around the United States, and work on many events for the company's trade show booths.  Eii attended many trade shows such as Modex, Promat, the National Association of PreSort Mailer Annual Conference, the National Postal Forum, and Parcel Forum.  Eii attended smaller shows such as the World Mail & Express Americas Conference, the Reverse Logistics Association Annual Conference, and the Washington Association of County Officials.

Trade Show Portfolio

I was in charge of creating the booth floor plan (including designing truss configurations, stage lighting, product maintenance, graphic design, inventory management, and plan travel/shipping arrangements), managing/selecting sponsorships for the shows, managing direct and indirect marketing strategies to drive booth traffic, raise brand awareness, and create lead generation.

As my team participated/worked at the booths, it was my job to ensure everyone was comfortable and knowledgeable of how to perform in the booth.  I would create all of the direct and indirect marketing strategies surrounding the show (pre-show, during, and post show).  I would ensure these marketing initiatives would be executed in a timely manner.

The Importance for Planning for Success

By planning a 12-month strategy, this ensured the company's success of our goal (either generating leads, increasing brand awareness, increasing social media presence, face-to-face interactions with potential customers, networking & sponsorship opportunities, and/or gathering insights for market research or industry trends.  By identifying these goals, our ROI would have the ability to measure the company's future profitable and measure or success at the trade show. As a team, we captured Marketing Qualified Leads at the show, and then our marketing team would upload the data into HubSpot, and created email campaign to enhance audience engagement through Eii's social media platforms, blogs, and website.

My Marketing Journey

As my experience grew with the success of trade shows, my marketing manager at Engineering Innovation began to give me more responsibility beyond event planning.  Projects include: product launch, company rebranding initiatives, product research, trade show research, website proposal/rebrand project, content creation, and promo item design.

Apian Sort Marketing Branding Project

Engineering Innovation's marketing team played a pivotal role in the successful launch of a new cloud-based mail sorting engine. This comprehensive product launch involved creating a distinctive name, developing a targeted messaging strategy for company leaders, and designing a compelling logo and visual identity. The product was prominently showcased at the National Postal Forum 2024, where it garnered significant attention. To learn more about Apian Sort, visit the Eii website.

National Association of PreSort Mailers  Annual Conference

NAPM, a non-profit organization of Mail Service Providers (MSPs) and vendors offering commingling and presort services for letters, flats, and parcels, hosts an annual conference each year. As a leading sponsor, Engineering Innovation Inc. (Eii) plays a key role in sponsoring and organizing this event. For the both the 2023 and 2024 conference, I was responsible for designing the stage,  coordinating packing and shipping logistics, and creating marketing content to promote the event. Plush Chameleon Project

Brand awareness is a vital component of any successful brand identity. Eii aimed to boost recognition for their Chameleon Parcel Sorting System, a customizable automation solution designed to meet the unique needs of warehouses and distribution centers. To achieve this, Eii sought promotional items that not only aligned with the product's brand but also resonated with their target audience. Research indicated that many adults attending the show had families with young children or grandchildren, presenting an opportunity to engage this demographic. To draw traffic to their booth, Eii integrated plush chameleons into an arcade-themed setup, featuring a claw machine filled with these toys.

As the project lead, I oversaw the entire process—customizing, designing, and collaborating with the third-party vendor, Douglas, to bring the plush chameleons to life.  I am very proud of this product, and the result of the design was very successful at our booths.  Attendees swarmed Eii's booth to grab one!

Blog Experience

Blogs are crucial in digital marketing and content strategy as they enhance a brand's online presence, drive website traffic, and improve search engine rankings through fresh, keyword-rich content. They serve as a platform to engage with audiences, establish industry authority, and educate customers, fostering trust and loyalty.

During my time at Eii, I had the opportunity to create a blog, and contribute to the growth of the brand's initiative to drive website traffic and improve search engine rankings. Check out my blog taking about warehouse safety tips.

Each year, the Purdue Research Foundation publishes an annual report that highlights the organization's accomplishments, growth, and developments. In the report, my photography was featured in the section showcasing the Purdue Startup Class of 2018

Pathmaker Internship Program 2019

My experience naturally expanded into marketing campaigns.  While gaining experience at the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF), I took on more responsibilities in the Marketing & Communications department.  During my time there, Pathmaker Internship Program needed representation and brand presence before launching officially.

I started by interviewing students who were part of the program (pictured to the right) and eventually I (and a few other of our marketing interns) represented the Pathmaker Internship Program during Boiler Gold Rush, the student orientation program for all new undergraduates.  When the program's representative requested our help in marketing, I, along with a few marketing interns, set up banners, a table, and brochures during the event.  We engaged with the new students and talked about the benefits of the program, which were the wonderful opportunities to gain real world experience in the workforce.

Saab Partner Announcement Event At Purdue University

As a representative of the Marketing & Communications Department, I played a key role during the Saab Partner Announcement Event at Purdue University, organized by the Purdue Research Foundation (PRF). My primary responsibility was to capture and provide supporting photography for the event, ensuring a visual record of this significant milestone
